The Practitioner #01I have spent over 10 years working in alternative healthcare in London, Paris and the British Virgin Islands. I began my career in the health spa industry in Paris and over the years learned and specialised in numerous techniques to help rejuvenate body tissues including aromatherapy; thalassotherapy (efficient treatments using the natural resources of the ocean); phytotherapy, nutritional therapy, Chinese massage, acupressure and reflexology.

Qualifications & Experience

  • I am a qualified Natural Health Practitioner in naturopathic [1&2] discipline with two Diplomas from the Collège des Médecines douces du Quebec (Alternative Medicine College of Canada) [3]. The syllabus enabled me to fully appreciate the cause of a wide range of symptoms or health complaints and to help patients regenerate and improve their body efficiency from the inside. I understand the impact of nutrition on the quality of life, its repercussion on well-being in general and on the body’s ageing process and mental condition.
  • I hold a Diploma in Aesthetic Treatments & Consulting from the Catherine Sertin International Aesthetic School in Paris. [4]
  • I hold a Diploma in Aesthetic Cosmetics from the Ministère de L’Éducation Nationale de la Recherche et de la Technologie (Ministry of Education National, Research and Technology) Academy of Paris.
  • Developed, launched and managed a health spa in the British Virgin Islands
I produced a program and techniques which combined the resources of the ocean and aromatherapy, in association with oriental and occidental techniques to improve well-being, skin condition, body tone and appearance.
  • In the UK, I worked at the prestigious Elemis Day Spa in Mayfair whose techniques combine some of the best from the Oriental and Occidental world.
Naturopathic Principles

Different types of alternative medicine share a common principle; they aim at normalising, stimulating and balancing bodily functions through natural means without endangering the subject.

All genetic, family, environmental factors, etc. are taken into consideration to understand the uniqueness of the subject and help them find their way to a healthy life. The profession demands the knowledge and the know–how in many complementary disciplines. Knowing how to use these wisely is the foundation of the ART of a Natural Health Practitioner. The key principles are :

  • Prevention is preferable to cure.
  • The underlying cause is identified and not the disease.
  • The whole person is treated physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
  • The individual is unique; each person responds differently
  • Ill health is a result of the internal disorder of the body.
